Assignment Focus:

The General Manager/VP Sales is responsible for managing all hands-on operational aspects of the company. Assists the President in the aggressive and successful sales and profit growth of the company.

Role:

Through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of company, the General Manager/VP Sales provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure profitability and operating efficiency.

General Manager Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors the mission and core values of the company, including complete familiarity with the policies and procedures laid out in the employee manual. Responsible for overseeing the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external.
  • Responsible for participating and leading the Hy-Tech team to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, business goals and objectives. Leads and directs the sales effort on mission critical goals and responsibilities to grow industry market share while providing high quality sales customer service to all business opportunities.

•Take the lead in the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes. Collaborate with Accounting and Warehouse management to develop and implement plans for changes to the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to be more efficient.

•Collaborate with the Director of Accounting and Human Resources in attracting, recruiting, training, and retaining key employees.

  • Act as lead purchasing agent and work closely with existing vendor relationships as well as identifying new vendor partners.

· Able to make tough decisions, enough if unpopular, and effectively deal with conflict so that the position fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

VP Sales Responsibilities:

· Develops and implements strategic sales plans to support President’s goals.

· Responsible for hiring sales associates, onboarding, training, and conducting annual performance evaluations.

· Meets with sales team and warehouse management on a weekly basis to discuss any issues, ideas, and plans for the week/month/quarter.

· With sales team input reviews market to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates. Develops sales tools and reports as needed. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly. Adjust territories as needed.

· Responsible for traveling with each salesperson on a quarterly basis to assess and assist with sales techniques and business relationships.

· Collaborates with operations to analyze product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.

· Meets with key clients as needed to maintain relationships, deliver sales presentations, and negotiate and close deals.

· Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.

· Participates. attends, or delegates attendance to industry standards meetings such as manufacturers demonstrations, apprenticeship programs, and trade shows to ensure Hy-Tech is properly involved and represented to promote the company and products.
